St John the Evangelist church is available for hire as a performance venue for concerts, as a rehearsal space, and for recordings and livestreams. The adjoining cloister can be hired for art exhibitions.

The church is equipped with the following facilities:
- central heating, underfloor and radiators
- comfortable audience chairs
- modern washrooms in the cloister
- modern lighting over the performance area
- demountable staging (9 pieces 2mx1m, 20/40cm high) and a conductor’s podium
- a standard 13 amp power supply throughout and a 32 amp feed near the north east door
- ethernet connection to enable livestreaming
- 12 music stands
- an induction loop for the hard of hearing
- green rooms in the sacristy near the performance area and in the college across the cloister (subject to availability)
- a licence to sell drinks

- Yamaha E108 upright piano
- sound reinforcement system
