Patience
Tue 10 June 19:30 - 22:30
Presented by Oxford University Gilbert and Sullivan Society
It is not easy to walk down Piccadilly in one’s artlessly Botticellian, Della Cruscan, Fra Angelican way. To find oneself enraptured only by a wayward lily’s fatal charms comes at the price of unconditional adoration. When maiden throngs sound their deafening love-cries, life is hollow. Hollow! Nor is life sweeter for the august military man, forced to adopt mediaeval attitudes and declaim the virtues of crêpe-de-Chine to reclaim one’s promised bride…
Wallow with us in our understated aesthetic woes. Sneer at us, jeer at us, queer at us. Come to see our production of Patience. For Art’s sake.
