Oxford Baroque Players – Haydn’s Paukenmesse

Sat 2 Nov 19:30 - 21:30

J.C. Bach Symphony in G Minor Op. 6 No. 6
J.S. Bach Concerto for two harpsichords BWV 1061
Haydn Missa in tempore belli “Paukenmesse”
Haydn The Heavens are Telling (from “The Creation”)

The Oxford Baroque Players perform Haydn’s Paukenmesse – a jubilant but troubled work written during the French Revolutionary Wars – alongside concertos and symphonies from the Bach family. Supported by the beautiful surroundings of St John the Evangelist, they will explore musical styles and genres from across the eighteenth century, including a lesser-known symphony by the “London” Bach, Johann Christian.
