Music at Oxford: Laura Jurd
Thu 24 April 19:30 - 21:30
Celebrating and innovating upon the rich traditions of jazz and folk music, Laura Jurd’s music digs into something primal and earthy, whilst taking twists and turns that show her to be one of the UK’s most distinctive composer-performers in contemporary music.
In the past couple of years, Laura’s love of traditional music has deepened, having played alongside the likes of Irish fiddle player Ultan O’Brien and English accordionist Martin Green (one third of super-group Lau). Enjoy brand new music that takes the listener on a journey of rites and rituals, propelled by the superb rhythm section of Ruth Goller and Corrie Dick.
