Ernest Aines: Tales of a Modern Man tour
Fresh from a celebrated appearance at the prestigious Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, Aines arrives in Oxford with a wave of momentum. Known for his heartfelt storytelling and intricate guitar work, Aines has earned comparisons to icons like Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley. His critically acclaimed album Spiral Bound has garnered major award nominations and international recognition, solidifying his reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting indie/folk artists.
Aines is known for his powerful voice, evocative lyrics, and mesmerizing stage presence. The intimate and acoustically rich setting of SJE Arts offers the perfect stage for his multi-faceted performance on acoustic, 12-string, and electric guitars, the last creating atmospheric textures that add depth to his reflective songwriting.
Aines is excited to perform for UK audiences, “I am absolutely thrilled to be playing iconic folk venues there, and as an English passport holder, it will be wonderful to return to my mother country to play for the first time! We are set to have some incredible shows”.
Praised for his distinctive style, AmericanaUK wrote, “He is quite some guitarist and wrings a lot out of the instrument. The combination of the guitar prowess, the arresting lyrics, and the vocal dexterity has tinges of Paul Simon or Jeff Buckley.”
