SJE Arts Cloister Gallery

Designed by the same architect as the church (G.F. Bodley) the Cloister Gallery lies between St John the Evangelist and St Stephen’s House. The interior windows, which are all glazed, look out onto an attractive garden space with a mulberry tree and medlars.

The gallery dimensions are approximately 35m x 29m. It is fitted with a professional picture hanging system (STAS) and modern lighting. Oxford Art Society have regularly used the gallery for their Open Exhibition, and have shown as many as 200 artworks. However, a limited section of the cloister can also be used to good effect and the central garden is ideal for weather-proof 3D work.

Exhibitors are expected to invigilate their exhibition and run their own sales desk, the times and access arrangements to be agreed with SJE Arts. A private view may also be possible, depending on the concert and College calendars.
